December 27 - January 2
Monday was my first official day of being unemployed. I went to the gym, installed our car seat, went for a walk in the afternoon, and got my covid booster shot. The weather was beautiful for a walk. It was sunny and in the 80s. I got my booster shot in the building that is across the street from Paul's lab, so I went to see him afterward and we got some burgers together. Because he took a dinner break with me he had to work a little later but he didn't mind.
Happy anniversary to Jacob and Brianna on Tuesday!
Tuesday was a little crazy. I went to the gym and realized I didn't have any cell service. Dad had texted me the day before and arranged that I would keep service until I was able to switch to Paul's phone plan over the weekend. I guess they did not honor his request. I didn't have time to fix it right away so I finished my workout and got ready for the day. I had a doctor's appointment that morning and I guess Mary was excited about it because she was doing somersaults in my belly. Her heart rate was kind of high, so they monitored me for 20 minutes to make sure she was okay. They always comment on how active she is. Last week I wasn't dilated at all but this week I am dilated to a 1! I am excited about that because the doctor said she was willing to induce me at 39 weeks if I started dilating but if I hadn't, I would have to wait for 41 weeks. After my doctor's appointment, I saw there was a T-Mobile store nearby, so I stopped in and put myself of Paul's plan. I still wouldn't have service until late morning the next day but at least things were in motion.
Wednesday I got my phone set up and they gave me a Dallas phone number. I called to change it back to the Utah number but they wouldn't let me access the account without Paul, since he's the primary person on the account. Paul was able to come home super early, at like 3 PM. He helped me finish setting up our phone plan and we called to fix my number but they said it was "unavailable". Whatever. So now I'm just sticking with the Dallas number.
Happy birthday to Grandma Kennard on Thursday!
Thursday Mom had questions about sewing patterns, so I FaceTimed her to figure those out. Then I talked with her and James for a few hours. Wendy called me while we were FaceTiming, so I called her back afterward. They are loving having Addie at their home over Christmas. She is at a very fun age. After our conversation, I started working on some sewing projects.
Friday Paul went into lab but only for a short while. I finished two sewing projects I started on the day before. Then I got ready for the day and put my feet up since they were pretty swollen. Paul got his hair cut on the way home then we went to the Cheesecake Factory for our New Year's Eve dinner.
Happy birthday to Mom on Sunday!
We found out that one of our ward friends had their baby this week. Our friend's name is Sara and her husband is getting a Ph.D. in chemistry as well, so that's kinda funny. They named their baby girl Bonnabelle and she was 5 lbs. 8 oz. and she was only born two days before her due date! Mary is at least two pounds heavier right now! It is crazy how each baby is so different. The weather has really cooled down over the weekend, so Paul and I bundled up and went for a walk on Sunday. I made loaded potato soup for dinner. We also zoomed in with Mom for her birthday.
