February 21-27
Monday I got a text to join a mom text group for the ward. They posted that they were going to get together that afternoon at the park. It was a beautiful day and got to 80 degrees! I was going a little crazy and looking for an opportunity to get out of the house.
Paul's abstract got approved for his qualifying exam, so he can move forward with writing the paper. Mary got a little overtired on Monday but Paul found the secret to calming her down. He would walk around with her and sing softly in her ear and she would calm right down.
Tuesday I read that babies should go to bed around 6 pm, so I thought I would try that with Mary. She slept until 8 and then was awake until 3 am! I am never doing that again. But she did sleep until 8:30 am without getting up once.. so that was nice.
Paul's friend, Rishi, that left the lab in December texted him on Wednesday to tell him he needed to give him something. Paul thought it had to do with the research he was doing but when he met up with him, it was actually a present for Mary! It was really thoughtful of him. Paul brought it home and let me open it. It was a 6 mo. sweater set with a little elephant on it. It's super cute.
I was holding Mary while she was sleeping for one of her naps and then I moved her to my side on the bed but I put my finger in her hand and she snuggled her face against my hand. She is so snuggly and sweet.
Sunday was the first Sunday that Mary and I went to church! I played the piano in primary and Mary slept during the second hour that she was with Paul. Later, we had Juanma and Floortje and their two kids over for dinner at our apartment. I made nacho chicken and cilantro lime rice. They said they really liked it. It was fun having them over. They are our friends that Paul met through UTSW.
